Elvis Presley - The '68 Comeback

Elvis Presley returned to television on Dec. 3, 1968 when his NBC SPECIAL was aired. This show, which had been taped on two days - June 27 and 29 at four concerts, was the begining of his so-called "comeback". Although he recorded countless numbers of songs in the two June shows, only a few have actually been released since. It is with great pleasure that this collection will enable fans to hear more of what was recorded, but never released.

It begins with the famous house of prostitution scene that was cut out of the final taping for obvious reasons. It is most unfortunate because, after listening to Elvis belt out "Let Yourself Go" (with accompaniment most likely by one of The Blossoms), one can suspect that he was giving one of the best performances of his life.

Later he does the now classic song "It Hurts Me" together with one of the most unusual Elvis instrumental breaks ever heard. The gospel medley is slightly different from the released version and especially at the begining and end.

Medley: Nothingsville; Guitar Man; Let Yourself Go; Guitar Man; Big Boss Man Memories
Let Yourself Go - Instrumental
It Hurts Me
Trouble/Guitar Man
Medley: Sometimes I Feel Like A Motherless Child; Where Could I Go But To The Lord; Up Above My Head; Saved
Little Less Conversion (instrumental)
